Healthy Spinach Avocado Smoothie Recipe

In these last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to find anyway to get my nutrients. The quarantine is making it a little difficult for me to go and get my fresh fruits and veggies. I try to limit my grocery store visits and find foods that are healthy with a decent shelf life. I’ve been using this spinach avocado smoothie recipe to get some of the nutrients I need. It has a good source of omega- 3’s, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Not to mention you can freeze all the ingredients in this recipe. Give this one a try because it’s a keeper!

  • Avocado- Super food loaded with heart healthy fatty acids. They are loaded with fiber, potassium, Vitamin K, E, B5, B6, and much more! They may even lower cholesterol and reduce arthritis.
  • Spinach- Is low in calories and high in fiber. It is full of Vitamin A, C, K1, Folic acid, iron, and calcium.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups spinach

  • 1/2 an avocado

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 2 tbsp flax seeds

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (I used Chobani vanilla)

  • 1 cup water or more to taste

Add all these ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth. I use a frozen banana, because I like my smoothies cold. If you don’t have a frozen banana, you can just use what you have and put ice in instead. I used my Nutribullet to make this smoothie and I LOVE it. It is so portable and easy to store. It makes blending up my smoothies a breeze and it’s so easy to clean. If you’re someone that makes a lot of smoothies, you HAVE to purchase a Nutribullet.
